The beira is a small species of antelope that dwells in the arid regions of the Horn of Africa. These diminutive antelopes prefer to dwell among stony and/or rocky slopes and hillsides, dry grassland that is interspersed with acacia scrub and sites on hills with flat summits and steep rocky sides. They face the threats of habitat loss and destruction at the hands of farming, ranching, and logging; hunting; trapping; civil war and unrest; and climate change, that results in severe droughts. The IUCN lists these critters as Vulnerable.
