Concerned with the general health, safety, and wellness of animals, this list of animal welfare organizations includes wildlife rehabilitation centers as well as animal rescue groups; which care for a broad range of animals in discomfort and distress, and sanctuaries, where these critters are brought to live and be protected for the remainder of their lives. The goals of these organizations are generally different from conservation groups, which are mainly concerned with the preservation of biodiversity, ecosystems, habitats, species, populations, rather than the care and welfare of individual creatures.
Below is a listing of numerous organizations I have found online. This listing is by no means complete. If you know of an organization that isn’t listed and you want it included, or you run an organization and would like to be added to this list, please let me know.
