An insectivore is an animal or plant that primarily eats insects. Insectivores can also be small mammals that are nocturnal (active at night) and eat insects and other invertebrates. Examples of insectivores include moles, shrews, hedgehogs, and tenrecs. Insectivores typically have long snouts but lack gnawing incisors.
