Traditional medicine refers to approaches, beliefs, knowledge, and health practices; incorporating plant, animal, and mineral based medicines, spiritual therapies, manual techniques, and exercises; applied singularly or in combination to treat, diagnose, and prevent illnesses or maintain well-being.
As far as practical approaches go, many of the practices involved with traditional medicines are unsubstantiated and considered pseudo science. For instance, the practice of using keratin based animal parts, like rhino horns or pangolin scales has never been proven to cure any ailment.
