<p>The Southern African hedgehog is a medium sized hedgehog that can be found in Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania and Zimbabwe. They face the threats of hunting and trapping for bushmeat, <a class="glossaryLink" aria-describedby="tt" data-cmtooltip="&#60;div class=glossaryItemTitle&#62;traditional medicine&#60;/div&#62;&#60;div class=glossaryItemBody&#62;Traditional medicine refers to approaches, beliefs, knowledge, and health practices; incorporating plant, animal, and mineral based medicines, spiritual therapies, manual techniques, and exercises; applied singularly or in combination to treat, diagnose, and prevent illnesses or maintain well-being.As far as practical approaches go, many of the practices involved with traditional medicines are unsubstantiated and considered pseudo science.
