<p>The white-rumped vulture is an Old World (those from Asia and Africa) vulturine species native to southern and southeastern Asia. Numbering into the several million strong, before the 2000s, these birds now number only an estimated 6,000-. This is due primarily to kidney failure as a result of diclofenac poisoning.
