<p>The green sea turtle, aka green turtle. Named not for the color of it&#x2019;s skin or shell (carapass), but for the color of its fatty tissue and <a class="glossaryLink" aria-describedby="tt" data-cmtooltip="&#60;div class=glossaryItemTitle&#62;cartilage&#60;/div&#62;&#60;div class=glossaryItemBody&#62;Cartilage is the firm, whitish, flexible connective tissue found in various forms in the larynx and respiratory tract, in structures such as the external ear, and in the articulating surfaces of joints.
